Christmas Tree 2008

Our most treasured family tradition...driving to the Pine Tree Barn every year to fell our Christmas tree...

Snow flakes on our lashes...it was blinding us.
There is no one better to snuggle with...Waiting for the horse wagon...
The Chosen tree...in the wild!
Drama: The handing over of the saw blade.
Going in for the kill.Much harder than she thought!Stopping for a pose...Just a note: I wouldn't recommend lying on the ground to cut your tree...she had poison ivy...all over her stomach, side, arm...who knew you could get it in winter???
Off we go!She carried the tree all the way back to the car...by herself. Some of "Santa's" cute critters.
She even got a kiss. And a hot chocolate for the long ride home.

My new thing...Digi Scrapping!

I stole this picture from Brittany's stash...I think it is so cute and just the definition of summer. This was taken by her on a Sunday morning as we were getting ready to leave for church. The days of her running freely outside are fading fast. I had to just capture the innocence as a special memory.

more three turtles

The three turtles at the Embassy Suites, Biltmore in Phoenix, Arizona

Three Turtles?

Three Turtles, I bet your wondering how in the world that name came to be. Every year we visit
Disney's Vero Beach Resort for our vacation...as soon as the doors open we are greeted by a picture of three turtles...not this particular picture (that will have to wait until I get a chance to take one) but you get the idea. When we visited Phoenix last spring there were three little turtles swimming together inside the hotel...we thought they were so cute...and Brittany told us it was just like us...so three turtles has become our family name. Our symbol you might say. I'll include that picture of the real turtles here so that you can see what I mean.
